Volunteer Vacancies

Solidarity Works! International and MYSA, our partner organisation, run on volunteers. These are the roles we need filled right now — each one directly supports Palestinians facing displacement in Masafer Yatta.

This is not support work — it is solidarity in action, in the name of the Palestinian people and the future their children deserve.

Graphic Designer (Volunteer, 4 hrs/week)

We need someone who can take a brief and deliver a finished, publish-ready social media post fast. Our templates, fonts, colours, and brand guidelines are all in place — we just need someone who knows what they’re doing with them for about three posts per week. Beyond social media, you will occasionally support our visual communication across other channels: updating our website, creating flyers for our outreach team, and helping to design reports and fundraising materials.

What we’re looking for:

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent — proven, not learning
  • Strong eye for layout and typography
  • Fast turnaround, independent work style

Put your skills to use: Click APPLY NOW below, tell us about yourself and share your portfolio or recent work.

Social Media Manager (Volunteer, 7 hrs/week)

Everyone on our team hates social media management. We need someone who doesn’t. You’ll monitor our platforms daily, engage with comments and communities, identify collaboration opportunities, analyse performance, and help set the content agenda. You’ll have real creative freedom and work closely with our media team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for an organisation or campaign
  • Solid grasp of platform algorithms and analytics
  • Daily check-in — this role doesn’t work once a week

Put your skills to use: click APPLY NOW below, tell us about yourself and share links to work or accounts you have managed.

Video Editor (Volunteer, 4 hrs/week)

Short-form social media videos, roughly two per week. Templates and brand guidelines exist. We need someone who can edit fast and deliver clean, polished content independently.

What we’re looking for:

  • Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or equivalent — proven experience only
  • Strong sense of pacing and storytelling for social platforms
  • Reliable turnaround

Put your skills to use: click APPLY NOW below, tell us about yourself and share recent work.

Local Organiser — Outreach & Advocacy (Volunteer, flexible hours)

You know your local Palestine solidarity scene. You show up to protests and events, you know the activists, the groups, the spaces. And you believe that more people should know that there is a concrete, tangible way to stand with Palestinians on the ground — not just in the streets.

That’s where you come in.

Your job is to spread the word about unarmed civilian protection (UCP) and protective presence in Palestine — what it is, why it matters, and how people can get involved. We’ll brief you, supply you with materials (flyers, stickers, adapted to your local context), and give you a ready-to-use 30-minute presentation you can deliver independently at events, universities, community spaces, or wherever your network takes you. Palestinian activists from Masafer Yatta can join live via a dedicated slot.

What we’re looking for:

  • Well-connected in your local solidarity scene
  • Confident speaking to groups and representing a cause
  • Self-motivated and reliable

No formal skills required. Just networks, commitment, and a belief that protective presence saves lives. Put your networks to use: click APPLY NOW below and tell us where you are and who you know.

Education & Scholarship Coordinator (Volunteer, 4 hrs/week)

We’re building a project to help young Palestinians in Masafer Yatta access scholarships, grants, and educational opportunities worldwide. We need someone who understands how international scholarship and funding landscapes work: who the players are, how to find opportunities, and how to navigate applications and institutional communication. This means research, outreach to NGOs and universities, and direct coordination with students and our partner on the ground, the At Tuwani Village Council.

What we’re looking for:

  • University degree — essential
  • Strong research skills and familiarity with international scholarship and grant ecosystems
  • Confident communicating with universities, NGOs, and funding bodies
  • Arabic (Levantine) and English — an advantage but not required
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Put your skills to use: click APPLY NOW below and tell us about your background.

Focal Person — Affected-Person Support
(Volunteer, on-call)

This is a small but important role. You will be the first point of contact for any MYSA volunteer who needs to raise a serious personal concern — including matters of misconduct or harm. You will listen, hold confidentiality, explain options, and help the person navigate next steps. You do not investigate, you do not judge, and you do not decide. You simply make sure no one is left alone with something difficult. Cases are rare. But when they arise, you need to be reachable — daily, throughout the week.

What we’re looking for:

  • Maturity and emotional steadiness — you can hold a difficult conversation without panic or judgment
  • Gender sensitivity and awareness of discrimination in its various forms
  • Discretion — absolute confidentiality is non-negotiable
  • Empathy and the ability to listen without immediately fixing
  • Daily availability via messaging — this is the one hard requirement

A background in psychology, social work, counselling, safeguarding, HR, or a related field is an advantage but not a requirement. What counts is the person, not the paper. You will receive a full briefing and training before taking on the role. A confidentiality agreement applies. Applications for this role are reviewed personally and treated in strict confidence.

If this resonates with you, click APPLY NOW below and tell us a little about yourself.
